Our client, an established construction equipment dealer, is seeking an Account Manager to grow business across the Upper Midwest. You will work directly with contractors, helping them source construction materials, tools, and jobsite supplies while supporting their rental needs for light equipment.

Experience selling construction supplies, equipment, or rental products will provide a strong foundation for this role. You understand how contractors work, what influences product selection, and why availability and dependable delivery matter. Your knowledge of pricing, quotations, order coordination, and territory sales will help you develop new business while providing the reliable support customers expect.

Your Mission

  • Build a stronger market presence by identifying prospective customers, active projects, and opportunities within the territory
  • Establish lasting relationships with new accounts while increasing engagement with the company’s existing customer base
  • Learn how each customer operates and recommend appropriate construction supplies, tools, materials, light equipment, and forming equipment rentals
  • Develop commercial proposals, confirm product availability, explain purchasing terms, and establish realistic fulfillment expectations
  • Remain involved throughout the sales process, coordinating internally to ensure orders and deliveries progress as expected
  • Take responsibility for customer concerns and bring together the appropriate resources to reach a practical resolution
  • Help customers understand available products through field demonstrations, training, and direct application support
  • Coordinate with sales and branch colleagues to provide consistent service and introduce customers to the company’s broader capabilities
  • Share customer demand and market activity with branch leadership to support purchasing and inventory decisions
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities, transactions, follow-up, and business expenses
  • Represent the organization at industry events while continuing to build knowledge of products, applications, and supplier offerings

A Few Qualifications

  • 1-2 years relevant work and training experience
  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • The communication and interpersonal ability to earn trust with customers, colleagues, suppliers, and manufacturer representatives
  • A practical, solution-oriented approach to customer needs and unexpected challenges
  • Confidence working with pricing, purchasing terms, basic business calculations, and sales documentation
  • The organization and personal accountability required to manage a territory with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Willingness to travel regularly and spend time in outdoor jobsites and other active work environments
  • Capacity to handle products weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with reasonable accommodation when applicable
