Our client, a respected North American dealership, is seeking a Director of Sales to guide commercial performance across a multi-state region and help shape the next phase of market growth. This is a leadership role for someone who knows how to build momentum through people, process, and customer engagement, while keeping a clear view of territory opportunities, team performance, and long-range business priorities.
You will enter the organization as a leader who balances regional strategy with a strong presence in the field. You will be counted on to support and elevate a distributed sales team, bring greater consistency to how the region operates commercially, and build the structure needed to drive customer growth, strengthen forecasting, and expand market coverage.
Your Mission
- Lead and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers across a multi-state territory, creating accountability, consistency, and stronger field execution
- Drive regional growth by shaping sales strategy, improving market coverage, and strengthening relationships with customers and key partners
- Bring better visibility to pipeline activity, forecasting, and territory performance so decisions are grounded and opportunities stay on track
- Stay close to the field through travel, customer interaction, and market observation that helps uncover business opportunities and guide team focus
- Work across sales, marketing, parts, service, rentals, and operations to improve coordination and support a better customer experience
- Maintain commercial discipline around opportunity management, pricing, quoting, and overall sales process execution
- Help build a stronger organization through hiring support, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of the regional sales team
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and customer trends to help adjust regional priorities and support long-term growth
A Few Qualifications
- Experience leading sales teams within relevant equipment
- Proven success in managing a broad territory and supporting team performance across multiple states
- Strong understanding of equipment sales, territory planning, forecasting, and commercial execution
- Comfortable working with municipalities, public sector buyers, and other government-related accounts
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to influence both customers and internal teams
- Experience using CRM and sales data to improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making
- Mechanical or technical aptitude that supports credibility in equipment-focused conversations
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently throughout the region
