Our client, a global construction OEM, is looking for a motivating, industry expert to join their team as an engineering project manager. Leveraging an extensive background in heavy machinery and complex project management, you’ll take the reins and guide multiple teams down a product road map from conceptual design through production and launch of a full line of construction equipment in the North American market. Your ability to hit quality, improvement and financial goals will help ensure the long term company success.

Your Mission:

  • Utilizing a phase-gate approach, manage all aspects of project operations from design to launch including procurement, manufacturing, assembly and testing to ensure all goals are met on time and within budget
  • Work cross functionally to provide technical leadership, oversight, and guidance to multiple global engineering teams through the entire product life cycle of a full line of construction equipment in North America
  • Champion technical project plans that marry customer requirements and company objectives
  • Lead the planning, validation and deployment of component & systems engineering design projects aimed at product improvement
  • Work cross functionally with internal engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions are provided to customers
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation that includes major component details, hydraulic & electrical settings and software & display specifications
  • Constantly monitor project progress while generating detailed reports as goals and milestones are met
  • Through proactive communication, identify possible product or process risks and produce solutions and contingency plans
  • Produce proper documentation and support plans to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards & regulations
  • As an expert in the competition, perform competitive analysis to identify gaps while generating improvement requirements
  • Visit customer sites to obtain VOC while troubleshooting and providing solutions to machinery issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 7+ years related experience with heavy machinery
  • Ability to analyze hydraulic & electrical schematics
  • Proven experience as an effective communicator, managing multiple diverse teams through complex projects from concept design to product launch
  • Strong knowledge of phase-gate process
  • Utilize Root Cause/Countermeasure method to problem solving 
  • Strong emotional intelligence with superior problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
