We are looking for an analytical go-getter with a proven sales track record to join our client, a global construction OEM, as their next Sales Manager focusing on municipality sales. Located in the Eastern US, this is an exciting opportunity to leave your mark on the company by growing and expanding the full product line through municipal sales and rental contracts. You’ll be on the frontlines, prospecting and selling as you execute the strategy of a robust and sustainable program.

Your Mission:

  • Execute prospecting and expansion plan geared toward municipalities within your territory
  • Support dealer network with sales presentations, proposals, bids and award communications
  • Champion account planning strategies to meet sales goals within your territory
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with local municipality and agency leaders to enhance brand recognition
  • Perform regular market research to remain an expert on the competition, monitor customer needs, target new opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Remain actively involved in local industry groups and associations
  • Provide support for dealers to ensure product knowledge and sales goals are met
  • Maintain accurate sales and contract performance data
  • Attend trade shows and events

A Few Qualifiers:

  • 3+ years of Municipal Sales experience
  • Experience selling relevant machinery
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business
  • Experience in government sales or related experience required
  • Strong ability to build relationships, trust and credibility with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Take a root cause approach to problem solving
  • Microsoft Office Expert (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc).
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Travel up to 80%
