Our client, a global construction OEM, has an exciting opportunity for you to join their corporate leadership team as their next Payroll Manager for multiple locations in North America. In this seat you’ll have the opportunity to lead a diverse team in the lawful processing of payroll and benefits while making management decisions that move the company forward. 

Your Mission:

  • Oversee all aspects of the payroll process for multiple business units including time card processing, importing, proofing, processing & transmitting, deductions, bonuses and manual payments while ensuring all applicable laws are followed
  • Create and install methods and procedures across multiple business units to monitor payroll activities
  • Establish and maintain priorities and deadlines for payroll processing
  • Manage, lead and motivate payroll team to include department guidance, training, evaluating KPIs, promotions & transfers and necessary discipline
  • Manage corporate time & attendance system for United States business unit
  • Manage benefits administration and process employee movement & expenses within the ranks of the company
  • Perform internal payroll audit and be the primary point of contact for external auditors to ensure data and transaction accuracy and compliance with local and federal laws
  • Champion the timely and accurate transition of newly acquired companies into the corporate payroll system
  • Lead the resolution of payroll discrepancies for the United States business unit
  • Analyze and take necessary action on items surrounding taxes, insurance & retirement plans, flexible accounts and vendor management
  • Keep accurate records and balance timely payroll reports including reviewing and posting to journals
  • Work cross functionally to install & implement new payroll software as needed
  • Field payroll data requests while ensuring confidentiality of employee information


  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or relevant field 
  • 6+ years of experience in payroll
  • Proven leadership experience
  • CPP designation or the ability to obtain CPP designation
  • Hands on experience with ADP or similar software
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-location payroll, procedures, laws and taxes
  • Strong analytical skills with superior math skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence 
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Excel, etc)
