A global leader in unique component manufacturing is looking to add a technically minded sales professional with a hunter’s attitude to their team. As a Sales Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong background in technical sales to maintain current client relations and develop new business channels. While not actively turning wrenches, at times you will be called upon to utilize your mechanical expertise to help find solutions to mechanical breakdowns or malfunctions. Additionally, you’ll make a significant impact on the company by implementing proactive solutions that minimize downtime and enhance product quality.

Your Mission

  • Develop strategic short & long term growth plans within your assigned territory
  • Champion company customer support efforts including scheduling demos, training and new customer set up
  • Utilize market knowledge and client data to strategically forecast customer demand while managing order fulfillment to ensure proper inventory
  • Negotiate agreements regarding supply, warranty and pricing
  • Establish connections with potential distributors, end-users and OEM network to expand sales within the territory
  • Expand company wide product expertise through training, testing, hydraulic & mechanical calculations and data analysis while sharing results with sales & engineering teams
  • Utilize the 8D problem-solving methodology to analyze machine malfunctions or component breakdowns 
  • Provide solutions including changes to system design, alternative component options, or other corrective measures
  • Continually look for opportunities for product improvements
  • Maintain an accurate customer database that drives successful business planning
  • Conduct proper follow-ups on sales activities (quotes, orders, deliveries, and returns)

A Few Qualifiers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
  • 3+ years proven sales experience
  • Experience with construction & ag equipment preferred
  • Technical mindset with a hunter mentality
  • Strong communication & writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Travel up to 50%
