Our client, a global leader in heavy machinery, is seeking an accomplished Technical Publications Manager to spearhead their documentation division. This strategic role is pivotal in architecting and optimizing comprehensive documentation systems that serve a global client base with precision and timeliness. Your visionary leadership will define and elevate the department’s strategy, ensuring superior documentation quality and seamless accessibility.

You will champion digital transformation initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement within the team. By setting high standards and aligning practices with industry regulations, you will ensure that technical publications not only support but also enhance the customer experience and operational excellence on a global scale.

Your Mission:

  • Lead and manage the technical publications team, providing training and guidance
  • Coordinate with writers, editors, and illustrators to produce high-quality documentation
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with product rollouts and user needs
  • Champion the digitalization of documentation for improved accessibility and user experience
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams for comprehensive content creation
  • Implement robust quality control measures to maintain clarity, consistency, and compliance
  • Develop training resources and conduct workshops for best practices in technical communication
  • Integrate user feedback for ongoing documentation enhancements
  • Manage relationships and accounts with 3rd party vendors
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adapt processes as needed
  • Oversee budget management and allocate resources efficiently, including managing external partnerships
  • Mentor team members to foster professional development and continuous improvement
  • Define and report KPIs to monitor team productivity and documentation quality

A Few Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years in technical publications with relevant machinery
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in managing cross-functional teams
  • Expert knowledge of publishing tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of engineering design and Bill of Materials systems
  • Ability to obtain safety certifications as required
