Our client, a well-known construction OEM, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to support the development of their next generation of heavy equipment. In this role, you’ll take on complex design challenges, contribute to key engineering projects, and work cross-functionally to ensure performance, quality, and manufacturability remain front and center. Whether improving existing models or advancing new product platforms, your work will help shape the future of the company’s equipment offerings.

This is a high-impact engineering role where your creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills will directly influence machine design and development efforts across the organization.

Your Mission

  • Drive design execution and technical development of heavy equipment products for the North American market in collaboration with global engineering teams
  • Contribute to product enhancement initiatives with a focus on component design, system integration, and reliability
  • Help define and meet project goals related to timelines, budgets, and customer expectations
  • Use customer feedback and internal data to identify design improvement opportunities and inform future product development
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design intent is maintained from concept through production
  • Monitor safety standards and assist in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Share technical knowledge with peers and support knowledge transfer within the team
  • Apply simulation and testing tools to validate design performance and refine mechanical systems
  • Participate in supplier reviews to assess design fit, manufacturability, and overall quality
  • Support the development and improvement of engineering standards, tools, and documentation across programs

A Few Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
  • 5+ years of hands-on design experience in heavy equipment or off-highway machinery
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects from concept through production within budget and timeline constraints
  • Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Countermeasure development
  • Deep understanding of phase-gate product development processes
