Our client, a leading global manufacturer in the equipment industry, is seeking a driven, industry expert to join their team as a Product Manager. With a robust background in the heavy machinery industry and product management, you will spearhead the development and innovation of port equipment, guiding cross-functional teams from initial concept through to market launch. Your expertise will be pivotal in achieving performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness goals, ensuring the company’s sustained success in the competitive port equipment sector.
Your Mission:
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and launch of port equipment
- Drive continuous product improvement by researching and integrating emerging technologies, keeping performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency at the forefront
- Stay ahead of industry trends and future technologies, championing innovation and leading technological breakthroughs in the port equipment market
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with both customer requirements and company objectives
- Oversee and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring all project milestones are met on time and within budget
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications and testing protocols
- Monitor project progress rigorously, generating detailed reports as goals and milestones are achieved
- Proactively identify potential risks in product design or process, creating solutions and contingency plans to mitigate them
- Ensure all product development activities comply with safety and quality standards and regulations
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in R&D and design of relevant equipment
- Proven experience leading the development of multiple new products as a project manager
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous product improvement
- Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams, demonstrating effective communication and leadership abilities
- Deep knowledge of port equipment technology and market trends
- A strong track record of driving innovation and achieving technological advancements within the industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage complex projects and deliver results
