Our client, a leading manufacturer of construction equipment, is looking for the perfect blend of personality, business acumen, and technical expertise to be their Business Development Manager concentrating on road machinery. In this seat, you’ll lead a team of product specialists hyper-focused on expanding brand awareness and market share. Your success will be determined by your ability to be a motivational leader while analyzing market and channel data in order to provide customer solutions that grow the company footprint and meet revenue goals.

Your Mission

  • Champion and manage a team of product specialists including setting KPIs, recruiting & development
  • Deeply research and understand the North American road machinery market
  • Stay abreast of market patterns and changes, and actively forecast future opportunities
  • Develop & implement short, mid & long term strategic sales plans
  • Champion business models and sales & marketing projects that lead to an increase in brand awareness & revenue
  • Analyze actual sales vs revenue targets and create & execute plans to close the gap
  • Lead the development and implementation of launch kits
  • Develop training materials and lead product training sessions including operator, service, and sales
  • Work cross-functionally with aftersales team to create and execute product support plans
  • Analyze VOC to support product changes and help influence areas of improvement
  • Champion communication through multiple channels to establish superior sales strategies and customer support 
  • Leverage data, face-to-face time with customers and background expertise to make educated decisions
  • As an expert in the competition, assist marketing personnel with the development of documentation and marketing content
  • Seek to continuously improve products, processes, and procedures
  • Regularly report on project progress to senior leadership
  • Attend industry trade shows and visit customers 

A Few Qualifiers

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Proven ability to drive culture change while remaining a motivational leader of diverse teams
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel at least 75%
