Our client, a well-established and privately held dealer with strong backing from an investment group, is seeking a Controller to help guide their financial operations. Recognized for their strong reputation and success in the local market, they are now poised for ambitious expansion across the outdoor power equipment industry. This role offers the opportunity to join at the ground floor of a new platform investment and play a critical part in building the financial foundation that will support continued growth and long-term success.

Your Mission:

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards
  • Oversee the preparation of audits, financial statements, board reports, and lender reporting requirements
  • Establish and refine accounting policies, processes, and internal controls to strengthen financial discipline
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on profitability, KPIs, and financial trends to support leadership decision-making
  • Partner closely with senior leadership, acting as a key advisor to the President and a resource for the General Manager
  • Guide the transition from legacy systems to modern financial tools, helping select and implement new solutions
  • Develop reliable financial forecasts, budgets, and analyses that support both near-term goals and long-term growth
  • Work with external accountants and auditors to ensure smooth year-end and tax reporting processes
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture while mentoring staff and promoting continuous improvement

A Few Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with audit and reporting requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a dealership, distribution, or transaction-heavy environment
  • Proven ability to design and improve financial systems and processes
  • Highly analytical with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Energetic, growth-minded professional eager to partner with leadership in scaling a dealership platform
