Our client, a national heavy transport and specialized logistics provider, is seeking a National Accounts Manager to grow strategic revenue across key enterprise customers. In this role, you will own high-value relationships, expand business across lanes and locations, and align internal operations to deliver consistent execution across specialized shipments. Your ability to translate customer needs into executable solutions will directly impact retention, profitability, and long-term account growth.
This position is built for a consultative seller who understands 3PL services and how to build long-term partnerships. You will be the point person for multi-location accounts, coordinating with dispatch, safety, permitting, and leadership to ensure every commitment is met and every opportunity is pursued.
Your Mission
- Own a portfolio of national and multi-region accounts with responsibility for revenue growth and retention
- Build and execute account plans that expand services across lanes, locations, and modes, including flatbed, heavy haul, specialized, and project freight
- Serve as the primary relationship lead for procurement, logistics, and operations stakeholders at the customer level
- Identify margin and volume opportunities through lane analysis, bid strategy, and performance reviews
- Lead quarterly business reviews, forecast activity, and communicate progress against goals
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure on-time execution across pricing, capacity, permitting, routing, and service recovery
- Develop pricing and bid responses in partnership with leadership and operations while protecting target margins
- Resolve escalations with urgency and ownership, turning service challenges into strengthened relationships
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting through CRM activity
- Track customer and market trends and bring proactive recommendations to leadership
A Few Qualifications
- Experience managing national or strategic accounts in transportation, logistics, heavy haul, specialized freight, or related services
- Proven ability to grow revenue within existing accounts while developing new enterprise-level relationships
- Strong commercial judgment with comfort discussing pricing, margins, service levels, and contract terms
- Operational fluency across capacity planning, dispatch coordination, and exception management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across customer and internal teams
- Comfortable with travel to customer sites, terminals, and key meetings as needed
- Proficiency with CRM tools, pipeline discipline, and data-driven account planning
