A respected manufacturer of road machinery is looking for a motivating sales veteran with a passion for building & nurturing relationships to be their next Sales Manager in the Western United States. This position will have you focused on Rental, National, and Key Accounts. You’ll have the opportunity to be a hands-on leader by supporting these accounts and OEM sales teams with in-depth market research & solutions, business development, and relationship management. You’ll also guide internal and external sales teams while ensuring they’re hitting revenue benchmarks and exceeding customer expectations.
Your Mission:
- Analyze and develop business plans by determining the current value, future potential and priority of Rental, Key, and National accounts with reference to sales and profit, market influence, and impact
- Actively influence business decisions that expand the company footprint while ensuring customer needs are met with appropriate solutions
- Provide overall business support including sales, policies, programs, and marketing initiatives to Rental, Key, and National accounts
- Develop sales & inventory goals while implementing the strategies and tactics aimed at achieving them for rental, national, and key accounts
- Monitor sales and inventory targets for all assigned accounts
- Provide in-depth market analysis and champion strategy improvements for rental, national, and key accounts
- Coordinate efforts with accounts to ensure strong working relationships, and facilitate the development of business plans to drive revenue
- Coach and support underperforming members of internal & external account sales teams
- Provide comprehensive data/reporting on rental, national, and key accounts to upper management to help drive decision making
- Work cross-functionally with internal marketing teams to champion multi-channel targeted efforts
- Manage schedule, striving to consistently meet and exceed sales targets
- Attend trade shows & special events, actively participating in new product introductions
- Relay voice of customer to appropriate departments while collaborating with internal teams to ensure an appropriate corrective action is taken
- Champion consignment inventory while overseeing accounts that may pose a credit risk
- Continually monitor expenses and identify opportunities for savings
A Few Qualifications:
- 7+ years of proven experience with relevant equipment
- Superior relationship-building skills with internal and external customers
- Highly driven and self-motivated attitude
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate and lead
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Up to 80% overnight travel
- Computer skills including Microsoft Suite and CRM software
