Our client, a family-owned heavy equipment dealership in New England, seeks an experienced Service Manager to oversee and optimize their equipment service operations. This role involves managing a dedicated team of mechanics, efficiently coordinating service tasks, and ensuring timely and effective equipment servicing both in-shop and in the field. Your proactive leadership will streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure outstanding service delivery.

Your Mission:
- Manage daily operations of the service department, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Schedule, prioritize, and oversee equipment repairs and servicing, effectively managing both shop and field resources
- Develop and maintain a robust preventive service schedule to optimize equipment performance and warranty compliance
- Open, manage, and close work orders promptly, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to billing procedures
- Establish clear productivity expectations and consistently monitor team performance
- Provide hands-on training, coaching, and mentorship to mechanics, fostering professional growth and positive workplace relationships
- Regularly review and authorize timesheets, ensuring accurate records
- Ensure the service facility is clean, organized, and fully operational to support effective workflow
- Strategically plan and implement departmental strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety, compliance, and operational standards within the team
A Few Qualifications:
- 5+ years relevant experience
- 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy equipment
- Demonstrated success in leadership, operational management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and comfortable with digital management systems
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Dedicated to maintaining high-quality service standards and promoting workplace safety
