Our client, a global supplier of steel systems and components, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join their dynamic team. As a pivotal part of the sales force, you will be responsible for driving business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with heavy equipment OEMs across the United States. In this seat, you’ll utilize your deep understanding of the manufacturing and steel industries and your proven sales expertise to expand the company’s footprint while achieving sales targets. This role demands strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively, ensuring the product portfolio meets the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector. You’ll also have the opportunity to build and oversee a sales team as the business grows.

Your Mission:

  • Develop strategic short & long-term growth plans within the United States market for current and new accounts
  • Champion company customer support efforts including scheduling demos, training, and new customer setup
  • Utilize market knowledge and client data to strategically forecast customer demand while managing order fulfillment to ensure proper inventory
  • Negotiate agreements regarding supply, warranty, and pricing
  • Establish connections with potential distributors, end-users, and OEM networks to expand sales
  • Work with third-party vendors to manage warehousing
  • As a motivational leader, build & manage a sales team, construct pipelines, and set KPIs
  • Foster the growth and skill development of the sales team through mentoring and coaching
  • Maintain an accurate customer database that drives successful business planning
  • Conduct proper follow-ups on sales activities (quotes, orders, deliveries, and returns)

A Few Qualifiers:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
  • 7-10 years of proven sales experience
  • Proven experience selling components or materials into OEMs
  • Ability to work with and influence multiple departments in an organization
  • Analytical mindset with a hunter’s mentality
  • Strong communication & writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Travel up to 80% including international travel
