A well-established and growing heavy equipment dealer is seeking a Used Equipment Manager to oversee and optimize the full lifecycle of its used equipment operations. This is a strategic leadership role that blends financial discipline, market insight, and operational execution. You’ll be responsible for shaping the direction of a high-value business function—managing everything from equipment acquisition and appraisal to pricing strategy, resale, and channel optimization.
With oversight of a diverse, multi-location inventory, you’ll play a central role in driving profitability, improving inventory turnover, and ensuring that every asset is positioned to deliver maximum return. Your Mission:
- Develop and execute a winning strategy for used equipment sales, rental, and resale
- Source, appraise, and acquire high-quality pre-owned equipment at the right price
- Set pricing strategies based on market trends and inventory velocity
- Lead a small team and collaborate across internal sales teams and external partners
- Maximize margin and inventory turnover through smart buying and effective channel management
- Oversee equipment lifecycles—from acquisition through reconditioning and resale
- Utilize a mix of sales platforms: direct-to-customer, wholesale, online, brokered, and auction
- Continuously monitor performance data and adjust tactics for growth
A Few Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment sales, asset management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment and market pricing
- Proven ability to lead with margin discipline and close deals across multiple channels
- High initiative, analytical mindset, and strong negotiation skills
- Comfortable working across office, field, and shop environments
