Our client, a global OEM, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead the launch of new assembly lines and strengthen local sourcing efforts. In this role, you’ll be key in shaping the company’s future by optimizing production processes, building a talented team, and shifting from imported component sets to locally sourced materials. Your leadership in operations, supply chain strategy, and manufacturing efficiency will help drive long-term growth, ensuring a seamless transition and a more sustainable, agile production model.

Your Mission

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support the successful launch of four new assembly lines
  • Oversee the hiring and training of all production floor personnel, ensuring a skilled and efficient workforce
  • Drive local sourcing initiatives, working closely with vendors to transition from imported kits to regionally sourced components
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and streamline production workflows
  • Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and quality control to ensure operational excellence
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and leadership teams to align operational goals with business objectives
  • Establish key performance metrics to monitor production efficiency and supply chain effectiveness
  • Develop supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to support cost-effective and reliable local sourcing
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and process enhancement

A Few Qualifiers

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and operations leadership, with a focus on assembly line setup and supplier development
  • Proven ability to launch and scale production operations, including hiring and training teams from the ground up
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational efficiency
  • Experience in supply chain management and vendor negotiations, particularly in transitioning from imported to local sourcing
  • Expertise in ERP systems and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
