The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) boasts a remarkable legacy spanning almost 130 years. Throughout its history, Megan Tanel has emerged as a trailblazer, being the only woman to have ever held the esteemed position of leading the organization. Megan’s journey began in the mid-90s when she joined AEM as an intern, steadily progressing through various roles. In early 2022, she took the role of President, and her tenure has been marked by dedication and accomplishment. As part of our ongoing series that celebrates successful and inspiring women in the manufacturing industry, we had the privilege of sitting down with Megan at ConExpo. Our conversation touched on life, family, and the transformative impact she strives to make by embracing her authentic self.
The National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) released a white paper spotlighting the exceptional contributions of women in the construction craft industry. The paper, which also addresses the hurdles women encounter when joining and remaining in the field, was constructed after meeting with over 175 tradeswomen and surveying 770 women in construction.
