Our client, a global industrial and heavy equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Plant Manager to lead site operations and industrial strategy within a complex manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the President, this role drives operational execution in support of enterprise strategy, with accountability for performance, efficiency, and long-term growth. A key focus of the role includes leading the implementation and integration of SAP across manufacturing operations to enhance visibility, accuracy, and scalability.
Your Mission
- Define and execute the site’s industrial strategy in alignment with overall company objectives
- Establish operational priorities and allocate resources in partnership with the leadership team
- Direct production, engineering, purchasing, and support services to achieve performance, quality, and financial targets
- Lead the site-level implementation and integration of SAP across production planning, materials management, purchasing, inventory, and operational reporting
- Partner with IT, finance, and functional leaders to ensure SAP configuration aligns with operational workflows and business objectives
- Drive SAP adoption, data accuracy, and process discipline to support reliable planning, execution, and decision making
- Anticipate changes in the industrial environment and assess their operational and financial impact
- Propose and implement strategic responses to evolving market, technology, and capacity demands
- Develop and manage budgets for production, engineering, and purchasing, including ROI analysis
- Optimize technical, organizational, and human resources to improve efficiency, quality, and employee well-being while maintaining budget discipline
- Guide sourcing, outsourcing, and supplier strategy in collaboration with purchasing
- Partner with engineering leadership to steer design and industrialization policy
- Lead and coordinate multiple strategic and operational projects simultaneously
- Build, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team
- Lead change management efforts associated with SAP implementation, ensuring teams are trained, aligned, and accountable
- Ensure operational performance aligns with expected operating results and profitability goals
A Few Qualifiers
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in an industrial or heavy equipment manufacturing environment
- Strong SAP expertise across production planning, materials management, purchasing, inventory, and financial integration
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through ERP driven process change
- Strong understanding of industrial organization, quality management systems, and continuous improvement tools
- Proven strength in project management and cross-functional leadership
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge relevant to manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated leadership presence with adaptability, analytical rigor, and clear communication skills
