In early May, we visited Washington D.C. to attend the 2024 Celebration of Modern Agriculture on the National Mall, an enlightening event organized by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). Come to the mall with us, here! They tell us over 12,000 people attended the event that showcased the transformative impact of innovation and technology on agriculture. The public displays featured the latest advancements in precision agriculture, such as data management, aerial application, and sustainable farming practices.
The event also served as an educational platform, presenting plant-derived products and highlighting the crucial role of biofuels while also reminding everyone how crops gets from the farm to our homes. Given the location, it provided a valuable opportunity for legislators to see how contemporary agricultural practices build on historical advancements and incorporate sustainable technologies poised to influence the future of food and crop production.
One of the highlights of our visit was the opportunity to meet with colleagues from AEM, including Kate Fox Wood, who shared valuable insights on legislative matters such as the Infrastructure Bill and the Careers Act, along with other initiatives AEM is pushing forward through November.
