Our client, a global construction OEM, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of its equipment portfolio. You will work across both new and existing products, applying your electrical engineering knowledge to design challenges, product enhancements, testing, and technical problem-solving.
Your electrical engineering and hands-on experience with heavy equipment will be valuable in this role. Your understanding of how electrical systems work within the broader machine will help you approach design challenges, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify opportunities for improvement. By combining that knowledge with a practical approach to engineering, you will help develop solutions that strengthen equipment performance, reliability, and functionality.
Your Mission
- Design and document electrical systems for new equipment and updates to existing products
- Develop schematics, wiring layouts, harnesses, controls, and supporting engineering documentation
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new designs and product changes
- Analyze test results and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and develop practical engineering solutions
- Identify design changes that can improve reliability, functionality, manufacturability, and cost
- Evaluate components and work with suppliers to support new designs and ongoing product development
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and other teams throughout the development process
- Build a strong understanding of the electrical architecture used throughout the company’s equipment portfolio
- Provide technical support and product knowledge when needed by internal teams
A Few Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 4+ years of relevant engineering or design experience.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment or similar machinery, including electrical system design, prototyping, harness development, and troubleshooting
- Experience using engineering and CAD software to design and document electrical systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other business functions
