Our client, an established manufacturer serving the heavy equipment industry, is seeking a Lead Hydraulic Systems Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership in the development of hydraulic systems for mining equipment. This role will focus on system performance, efficiency, durability, and the integration of hydraulic technologies across complex off-highway machinery.

Utilizing your deep mobile hydraulics experience and systems-level engineering perspective, you will help shape how hydraulic systems are developed, refined, and applied across demanding mining applications. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and field teams to ensure hydraulic performance supports the overall reliability and productivity of the equipment.

Your Mission:

  • Lead the technical development of hydraulic solutions across complex mining equipment platforms
  • Establish performance expectations for machine functions that depend on hydraulic power and control
  • Shape system configurations that balance responsiveness, efficiency, durability, and real-world application demands
  • Guide engineering decisions involving major hydraulic subsystems and their interaction with the broader machine
  • Evaluate system behavior through development data, testing, and operating feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive resolution of complex hydraulic challenges that emerge during machine development and field use
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external technical partners to move system concepts toward production-ready solutions
  • Strengthen hydraulic engineering practices that can support future equipment programs and product development

A Few Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with an advanced degree preferred
  • Significant experience developing mobile hydraulic systems for mining, heavy equipment, or other off-highway machinery
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic system behavior, component interaction, machine integration, and performance optimization
  • Experience supporting prototype development, technical testing, troubleshooting, and design refinement
  • Strong engineering judgment with the ability to turn complex system behavior into practical design decisions
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other technical teams
