As Purchasing Director, you will oversee demand forecasting, purchasing, scheduling, and imports while bringing structure, clarity, and direction to a fast-paced production environment. Your ability to analyze trends, manage vendor performance, and align purchasing strategy with operational needs will be key to driving margin improvement, inventory accuracy, and long-term supply chain scalability.
Your Mission
- Lead all aspects of purchasing, scheduling, and import functions with a focus on cost control and vendor performance
- Align supply chain strategy with operational forecasts and plant production targets
- Oversee the company’s S&OP cycle and implement process improvements across planning functions
- Develop forecasting models and reporting tools to support accurate demand planning
- Standardize tools, metrics, and systems to scale supply chain execution
- Provide strategic direction on ERP implementation and system integration
- Manage the scheduling office and ensure timely coordination with customer service, especially for change orders and urgent shipments
- Guide warehouse layout design, equipment sourcing, and asset optimization efforts
- Negotiate vendor contracts and international sourcing strategies with a focus on value, service, and compliance
- Mentor and manage direct reports while promoting accountability, efficiency, and professional growth
A Few Qualifications
- 15+ years of supply chain leadership with expertise in purchasing, vendor management, planning, and international sourcing
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Proven ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset that supports sound business decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field required. Master’s degree or MBA preferred
