Our client, an established shortline equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Sales Specialist to support its growth across Texas. You will work directly with equipment owners, operators, and other end users to introduce the product line, develop new relationships, and conduct tow and show demonstrations at customer locations. By putting equipment in front of prospective customers and showing how it performs in their operating environment, you will help them understand where the products fit and move promising opportunities forward.

This opportunity calls for a hands-on equipment sales professional who enjoys being in the field, meeting customers, and creating business through consistent follow-up. You will balance prospecting, demonstrations, account development, and travel while staying alert to applications where the company’s products can deliver meaningful value. Success will come from strong customer communication, practical product knowledge, and reliable execution throughout the territory.

Your Mission

  • Build a strong pipeline of new business among contractors, equipment users, fleet operators, and other commercial customers across Texas.
  • Evaluate the territory to identify promising accounts, underserved markets, and opportunities to improve dealer coverage.
  • Establish productive relationships with dealer leadership, sales representatives, and customer-facing teams.
  • Help dealer personnel recognize suitable applications, communicate product value, and pursue opportunities more effectively.
  • Present equipment to prospective customers through field demonstrations, application discussions, and practical business cases.
  • Generate your own opportunities through direct outreach, referrals, industry relationships, and consistent market involvement.
  • Coordinate with sales, service, and support teams to provide customers and dealers with a responsive experience.
  • Maintain clear visibility into account activity, developing opportunities, expected results, and territory priorities.
  • Share customer feedback and competitive insight that can strengthen product positioning and future sales strategy.

A Few Qualifications

  • At least three years of sales or business development experience within construction equipment, industrial machinery, fleet products, or a related market.
  • Previous experience supporting an equipment manufacturer, dealership, distributor, or other channel-based sales organization.
  • A demonstrated ability to enter new accounts, develop relationships, and create momentum within a large geographic territory.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain equipment applications and financial value clearly.
  • A valid driver’s license, residence in Texas, and the flexibility to spend a significant portion of the week traveling throughout the market.
