Our client, a well-known construction equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier performance, manufacturing quality, and continuous improvement across a growing operation. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented quality professional who understands supplier processes, manufacturing standards, and the importance of protecting the customer experience.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with suppliers, internal quality teams, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to strengthen inspection processes, resolve supplier-related issues, and reduce quality risk across the supply base. This position requires someone who can analyze problems, communicate clearly, and lead corrective actions that support stronger supplier performance.
Your Mission
- Support new product development by helping create and execute supplier quality plans
- Conduct supplier quality audits and communicate company quality expectations clearly
- Manage supplier materials that do not meet quality standards
- Work cross functionally to develop inspection plans, quality procedures, and process controls
- Track supplier defects, quality trends, and recurring issues for monthly reporting to the Global Quality Manager
- Identify and reduce supplier quality risks before they impact production or customers
- Use the 8D problem-solving process to lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts with suppliers
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers while supporting ongoing supplier development
A Few Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, supplier quality, or a related field
- ASQ certification preferred
- Strong understanding of quality systems, supplier processes, and manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, or technical documentation
- Strong organization, time management, communication, and collaboration skills
