Our client, a global heavy equipment manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the development of a new equipment platform for demanding mining applications. This highly visible position combines technical expertise, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership to move a complex product initiative from initial concept through production and market introduction. You’ll bring together teams across multiple functions and regions while ensuring the finished equipment delivers the performance, durability, safety, and long-term value expected in severe-duty environments.

Your Mission:

  • Lead a major heavy equipment development program from early planning through production and commercial introduction
  • Build and manage a development roadmap that connects technical priorities, business objectives, resources, budgets, and project milestones
  • Unite engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, product, commercial, and aftermarket teams around shared program expectations
  • Translate customer feedback and real-world mining applications into meaningful product and performance requirements
  • Monitor market conditions and competing equipment to uncover opportunities for product differentiation
  • Identify technical, operational, and scheduling risks while coordinating solutions that keep the program moving forward
  • Maintain alignment between North American stakeholders and international development teams
  • Help internal teams prepare for manufacturing, product launch, field support, and ongoing lifecycle management
  • Ensure project decisions account for relevant safety standards, regulatory requirements, and severe-duty operating conditions

A Few Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automation, product development, or a related technical discipline
  • Five or more years of experience developing complex mobile heavy equipment
  • Significant involvement in a large-scale equipment development initiative for mining or similarly demanding applications
  • Experience with motor graders, grading equipment, or closely related machinery strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment systems, engineering, testing, manufacturing, and field performance
  • Proven ability to lead technically complex programs involving multiple departments and global stakeholders
  • Strong judgment, accountability, communication, and problem-solving skills
