Our client, a global construction equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to shape how the organization plans, produces, sources, and improves. Working closely with the President and CEO, you will lead the operating structure behind the company’s growth, ensuring customer commitments are supported by the right capacity, leadership, processes, technology, and financial discipline.

This opportunity calls for an experienced manufacturing executive who understands how decisions made across the business ultimately affect the factory floor. You will bring direction to a broad operational organization while remaining close enough to the work to recognize constraints, challenge assumptions, and help leaders solve problems. Your ability to connect market demand, product strategy, workforce capability, supplier performance, and investment decisions will be central to the company’s continued success.

Your Mission

  • Develop an operating model that connects business objectives with production capacity, workforce planning, material availability, and customer demand.
  • Establish clear ownership and decision-making authority across the functions responsible for building and delivering equipment.
  • Strengthen the leadership team by setting expectations, developing talent, improving organizational structure, and preparing future successors.
  • Introduce practical performance measures that provide an accurate view of throughput, lead times, quality, inventory, workplace safety, and operating cost.
  • Identify the constraints limiting output or profitability and ensure improvement efforts address their underlying causes.
  • Evaluate where new equipment, digital systems, automation, or revised workflows can produce a meaningful business return.
  • Improve the reliability of material planning and supplier coordination while reducing exposure to shortages, delays, and changing demand.
  • Bring greater discipline to operating expenses and capital decisions by connecting resources with defined priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Create stronger coordination among operations, engineering, product development, and commercial leadership as new products and customer requirements move toward production.
  • Maintain an environment where safe working practices, product integrity, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance are built into everyday decisions.
  • Provide an operational perspective during important customer discussions, business partnerships, and industry activities.

A Few Qualifications

  • Executive leadership experience within equipment manufacturing, engineered products, or another complex industrial environment.
  • A record of improving manufacturing performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations, supply chain management, process improvement, and manufacturing technology.
  • Financial and analytical ability to evaluate performance, operating risks, and major investments.
  • A credible leadership style with the ability to develop teams, guide change, and align operational, technical, and commercial functions.
