Our client, a respected global equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to lead sales growth, customer support, dealer development, and service performance across the United States. This role is suited for a hands-on commercial leader who understands equipment sales, service operations, channel partnerships, customer relationships, and the importance of building strong teams around the full customer experience.
This position will help guide national sales and service strategy, strengthen dealer and end-user relationships, improve route-to-market execution, and support continued revenue, margin, and market growth. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound business judgment, and the ability to align sales, service, parts, and customer support around a customer-first approach.
Your Mission
- Develop and execute a national commercial strategy focused on revenue growth, margin performance, market expansion, and customer engagement.
- Lead, support, and develop a high-performing sales and service team built around accountability, collaboration, and customer success.
- Strengthen dealer, channel partner, and end-user relationships while ensuring customers receive responsive support before, during, and after the sale.
- Evaluate and improve route-to-market strategy, including dealer coverage, direct sales opportunities, service support, and customer touchpoints.
- Oversee service and parts strategies that improve uptime, customer satisfaction, repeat business, and long-term loyalty.
- Monitor sales, service, and customer performance metrics to identify opportunities, address challenges, and report progress to senior leadership.
- Calibrating customer expectations around lead times, recognizing growth opportunities, selling available inventory, and incorporating future equipment needs into the forecast
- Drive improvements across the full customer journey by aligning sales, service, parts, and support teams around a consistent customer experience.
- Work cross-functionally to improve processes, introduce new sales and service approaches, and support continued business growth.
- Manage budgets, resources, and team priorities effectively to support commercial goals and operational performance.
- Represent the business through regular travel, customer visits, dealer meetings, team support, and industry engagement.
A Few Qualifications
- Leadership experience in equipment sales, service, dealer development, or related commercial operations.
- Strong understanding of dealer networks, direct sales, customer support, and aftersales operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships, analyze performance, and drive measurable business results.
- Mechanical knowledge and the ability to understand equipment applications, service needs, and customer challenges.
- Comfort using CRM systems, reporting tools, and technology to manage sales and service activity.
- Ability to travel regularly across the U.S. to support customers, dealers, service teams, and business development.
