Our client, an established equipment manufacturer, is seeking a General Manager to oversee a significant rental and service operation. This executive will be responsible for the overall direction and performance of the business, bringing together commercial strategy, operations, fleet management, service, logistics, customer relationships, and team leadership.

Your Mission
- Provide overall leadership for a multi-location rental and service business
- Take responsibility for financial results and translate business objectives into clear operational priorities
- Drive stronger fleet performance through effective planning, deployment, availability, and asset management
- Evaluate fleet requirements and help guide future equipment investment based on business demand and financial return
- Develop a coordinated approach to equipment transportation and movement across the organization
- Ensure transportation activities meet applicable safety, licensing, permitting, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee service activities with an emphasis on equipment reliability, availability, and efficient return to rental
- Establish meaningful performance measures across maintenance, repair, and equipment readiness
- Lead commercial and rental support functions while improving consistency throughout the customer experience
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers across construction, infrastructure, engineering, and related markets
- Remain engaged with customers and field operations to maintain a strong understanding of market and operational needs
- Create greater alignment between sales, fleet, logistics, service, and support functions
- Identify staffing and organizational needs as the operation continues to expand
- Improve the quality and visibility of operational and financial information used to guide business decisions
- Use technology and fleet data to support stronger planning, asset management, and operational execution
- Promote consistent standards and accountability across geographically dispersed teams
- Communicate business performance, investment needs, opportunities, and priorities to senior leadership
A Few Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in equipment rental, fleet services, or a closely related industry
- 5+ years of demonstrated P&L and operational leadership at the branch, regional, business-unit, or comparable level
- Proven experience leading multi-location operations and cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of rental economics, fleet utilization, logistics, and asset management
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial driver operations, DOT compliance, and transportation requirements
- Proven ability to develop teams, improve operations, and support growth within an evolving business
- Experience in crane, aerial, specialty rental, heavy equipment, or related markets is preferred
