Our client, an global equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Regional Business Manager to expand the commercial presence of its material handling product portfolio. From your desk in the South Central US, you will shape how the organization approaches the region, determining where greater representation is needed, which relationships offer the strongest potential, and how dealer partners can compete more effectively in their local markets.
This opportunity calls for a self-directed equipment professional who understands how manufacturers and dealers create growth together. You will balance regional planning with regular field involvement, working alongside dealer leaders, sales teams, rental organizations, and customers. As the business expands, you will also help determine what additional regional resources are needed to support continued growth.
Your Mission
- Build a regional commercial plan based on customer demand, competitive activity, and opportunities for stronger market coverage.
- Establish productive working relationships with dealer ownership and commercial teams, creating clear priorities and consistent follow-through.
- Identify areas where the organization needs additional representation and develop relationships with businesses capable of serving those markets.
- Help dealer teams convert local opportunities into equipment sales through account planning, opportunity reviews, demonstrations, and appropriate stocking decisions.
- Develop relationships with rental organizations, multi-location accounts, and other customers capable of creating sustained regional demand.
- Coordinate the introduction of new dealer partners and products by aligning training, equipment availability, internal resources, and market activity.
- Bring commercial, operational, and technical resources together when an issue could affect a customer relationship or limit future business.
- Provide leadership with useful field intelligence regarding customer needs, competitive activity, product acceptance, and dealer capabilities.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the territory through customer visits, dealer engagement, and relevant industry events.
- Contribute to the development of the regional organization as additional field leadership and sales support are added.
A Few Qualifications
- 5+ years proven equipment sales or business development experience within material handling, construction equipment, industrial machinery, or a related market.
- A record of growing a territory, strengthening dealer relationships, or expanding market coverage.
- Strong commercial judgment with an understanding of dealer operations, customer demand, and equipment applications.
- The confidence to work effectively with business owners, sales teams, rental organizations, customers, and internal leadership.
- A self-directed working style, current driver’s license, and willingness to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory.
