Our client, an established equipment dealership, is seeking Rental Territory Managers to turn market opportunity across New England into sustained rental growth. You will operate with ownership over the region, determining where to focus, which relationships to pursue, and how to increase the company’s relevance among customers who depend on equipment availability to keep their work moving.
Your advantage will come from understanding the market before demand becomes obvious. By staying close to customers and upcoming projects, you will recognize fleet gaps, anticipate equipment requirements, and translate that insight into practical rental solutions. This opportunity calls for someone who can create their own momentum, earn repeat business, and move comfortably between field selling, commercial discussions, and coordination with the branch.
Your Mission:
- Manage New England as a business by setting priorities for customer acquisition, account penetration, and rental growth
- Identify geographic areas and customer segments offering the strongest potential for increased market share
- Build visibility throughout the territory through consistent face-to-face activity at customer locations and active projects
- Learn about upcoming work early enough to position equipment before rental decisions have been made
- Establish openings with organizations that are new to the company, no longer active, or currently committed to another provider
- Increase rental activity within current accounts by uncovering needs across additional projects, locations, and affiliated businesses
- Shape each recommendation around the work being completed, anticipated duration, operating conditions, and financial considerations
- Carry opportunities from initial discovery through commercial commitment and a clear operational handoff
- Stay closely aligned with branch personnel as fleet status, transportation schedules, and customer requirements change
- Take ownership of customer communication when complications arise and protect the relationship through a timely response
- Use the CRM as an active forecasting tool with clear opportunity values, timing, probability, and next actions
- Connect customers with other areas of the dealership when their needs extend beyond rental equipment
- Provide leadership with useful intelligence about local demand, competitor behavior, and emerging opportunities
A Few Qualifications:
- 3+ years of successful field or territory sales experience, with equipment rental, construction, or a related industry preferred
- A record of generating opportunities independently and establishing business in competitive markets
- The commercial judgment to evaluate opportunities, work through pricing discussions, and prioritize time effectively
- The aptitude to learn equipment applications and connect machine capabilities with the work customers need to complete
