Our client, a global leader in heavy equipment and mixing plant technology, is seeking a Service Engineer to support asphalt plant installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service across the U.S. and Canada. Success in this role will come from strong technical problem-solving skills, electrical and automation knowledge, clear customer communication, and the ability to stay organized in active field environments.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role for someone with strong electrical, automation, and industrial equipment experience. The Service Engineer will work closely with project teams, field crews, and customers to support plant assembly, system startup, diagnostics, repairs, and long-term equipment performance.

Your Mission

  • Support the setup, startup, and ongoing service needs of asphalt plant equipment in the field
  • Partner with internal project teams and customer contacts to keep installations moving efficiently
  • Help guide onsite work activity, priorities, and communication during active projects
  • Inspect, test, and fine-tune plant control systems to ensure proper operation
  • Diagnose technical issues involving controls, electrical components, automation systems, and plant performance
  • Provide hands-on field support as well as remote troubleshooting assistance when needed
  • Complete equipment service, repairs, adjustments, and technical evaluations
  • Help customer teams understand proper operation, maintenance practices, and safety expectations
  • Act as a trusted technical resource throughout installation, startup, and post-installation support
  • Prepare clear service notes and updates for customers and internal team members
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, or user experience
  • Maintain a strong focus on safe work practices, site expectations, and professional field conduct

A Few Qualifications

  • Degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience supporting, servicing, commissioning, or troubleshooting industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of electrical controls, PLCs, HMIs, schematics, and automation systems
  • Experience with asphalt plants, mixing plants, heavy equipment, or comparable industrial machinery preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, customer communication skills, and field service mindset
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 80% as needed
