Our client, a multi-location heavy equipment dealership group, is hiring a Vice President of Aftersales to lead the business that supports customers long after the initial sale. This leader will set direction and drive execution across parts, service, warranty administration, technical support, rebuild and component programs, and the day-to-day systems that improve uptime and lifetime value.

Reporting to the President and CEO, you will bring discipline and clarity to how aftersales operates across every branch, using consistent standards, clear metrics, and a strong leadership cadence. Success in this role comes from balancing customer outcomes with margin protection, building a strong bench of leaders, and creating an environment where teams deliver reliable results without relying on heroics.

Your Mission:

  • Build and lead an aftersales growth plan that strengthens customer loyalty while improving profitability across the dealer group
  • Own the financial performance of aftersales, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management tied to agreed targets
  • Improve absorption performance by expanding aftersales contribution and tightening execution across service and parts
  • Create one consistent operating playbook across branches, including workflows, service standards, and measurable expectations
  • Raise service performance through better scheduling, WIP control, turnaround time discipline, technician development, and safety leadership
  • Strengthen parts performance by improving stocking strategy, turns, fill rates, and aging control while leveraging OEM and supplier programs
  • Set a clear KPI structure and operating rhythm that tracks the drivers of service and parts results and enables fast course correction
  • Lead customer escalation and resolution when needed, then turn issues into process improvements that prevent repeat events
  • Expand uptime and lifecycle offerings such as service agreements, rebuild programs, and component exchange to create durable value for customers
  • Partner closely with sales, used equipment, and finance to align lifecycle decisions, pricing discipline, and reconditioning outcomes
  • Ensure warranty processes are compliant, efficient, and optimized for recovery while maintaining strong OEM coordination
  • Develop and coach branch-level leaders, building accountability, engagement, and retention across the aftersales organization

A Few Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Extensive leadership experience in capital equipment aftersales or service operations within construction, agriculture, mining, or similar industries
  • Senior level experience leading multi location parts and service teams with direct accountability for results
  • Demonstrated ability to improve aftersales profitability and absorption in a dealer environment
  • Strong financial fluency with comfort managing through KPIs and operational drivers
  • Working knowledge of ERP and service management systems, plus CRM tools that support customer and branch execution
  • A steady, credible leadership style that communicates clearly, drives change effectively, and scales standards across locations
